Jenna Fischer has become best well-known as Pam Beesly, the character she played on The Office. In the course of playing this character, she was awarded two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy as well as an Emmy Award for the Best Supporting Actress.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, but was raised mostly in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna was inspired by her mom's church performances at the time she started her journey.
She's a trained actress who returned to the stage after The Office. In the Off-Broadway Play Reasons To Be Happy composed by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer was the lead. In Steve Martin's new production Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy featuring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she was then invited to appear in at the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer launched Office Ladies, a podcast on Earwolf in the month of October. The show has been a huge success, reaching the Top Ten worldwide every week as well as receiving over 200 million downloads within the first two years. Office Ladies took home the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Awards in January 2021.
The Actor's Life was her first novel, and chronicles the road she took from St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood and then to Hollywood, where she was an actress professionally. The second book, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is an autobiography of her best friend and their experience working in The Office.
