She is a singer songwriter and actor of the United States. Her talent was first noticed in her teens. She signed with Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. She appeared in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? song that same year. The Fat Joe's What's Luv and Foolish? First ever female to make it into the Billboard Hot 100's highest two spots in the United States, with Foolish at number one, and What's Luv? The song is called What's Luv! Tina Douglas' mother was a dance instructor and Ken-Kaide Douglas, who was the parent of Ashanti Douglas, had been a vocalist. She is Kenashia's eldest sister. Douglas was named Ashanti Shia Douglas in honor of the Ashanti Empire from Ghana, where women were powerful and influential. Douglas wanted Ashantis to take this as a model.
