Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th of November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, (presently Onesti(born November 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now One Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10 points in the Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi was a Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became Comaneci's coach and first became aware of Comaneci when she was just six years old. At first, she competed in the championships for juniors from Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. And in 1970, was crowned champion. In 1972, at an event for communist-controlled countries' junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she won three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974, she became the all-around junior champ. At her first competitive event at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva of Russia won five gold medals, as well with one silver. In 1976, she became the first female athlete in the world to use a backwards-double salto in order to take off the parallel bars. The journey of Carol Wayne to the world of entertainment began in her teens. With her sister Nina Wayne, she joined the traveling entertainment show known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol's first job was in entertainment as a teenager. At the age of 13, Carol began as a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
